Project TGDK: Oakwood lights

I’ve designed and manufactured these wall lights from reclaimed oakwood for the project TGDK” at Lichtervelde, Belgium.

TGDK (the quiet, rhythmic sound of a train on the tracks) is a video installation in the new nursing home in Lichtervelde. The whole is a place for the elderly (and family and friends) in a cozy, restful space to – mainly Lichterveldse – images look familiar, some less recognizable. Three videos (with similar but just different images) bring the outside world for the residents back inside. There is space for guest artists, the lights were designed and created by Atelier Dee.
