Scrap Into Fly

There is a lot of different parts in this one. Wings are made of plexiglass pieces fastened together by stapler clips using a soldering iron. You just have to place a staple in position and heat it’s back with soldering iron also pushing it down until it melts the material and goes through. Then bend protruding ends of a staple flat. Some practice is needed however this is an excellent way to put some pieces of plastic together or to repair some cracked plastic items.

Very cool! the hardest part of making sculpture from found objects is putting them together so that all the parts integrate well into a whole; otherwise the viewer still sees the separate pieces as what they “really” are, and the piece doesn’t really work. I immediately see “fly” here. Well done!
