Annarita Mameli, creative recycling artist, Violetta Canitano, architect and designer. From our chance meeting and shared passion for eco-sustainability, to life an exciting collaboration and a unique creative project Design Eco-centriche FROM thing REBORN thing.
Our creations are made exclusively by the creative recycling of paper, paperboard, and cardboard treated only with natural glues, non-toxic colors, paper crafts and recycled newspapers. They range from pop paintings, hand-painted with acrylic paints, born by recycling old canvases with newspapers, to furniture accessories such as lamps, frames, mirrors, and particularly to sturdy and durable furniture made of cardboard. These are crafted using a double and triple corrugated cardboard interlock with a special technique designed to make furniture resistant. Recyclable, lightweight, durable cardboard provides endless possibilities of sizes, shapes and decorations,

When people hear the Italian word Vespa, it’s instantly associated with Piaggio scooters. The word actually means ‘wasp’ and was used by Enrico Piaggio for his scooters when they first appeared in 1942, because of their appearance and the buzzing noise that the two stroke engine created. Tougher emission laws and the push to “go green” have made it increasingly difficult for classic automotive owners to maintain their pride and joy on the roads of today. Instead of sending rusty Vespa’s to the trash pile, I have found a more creative solution: turn the iconic scooter into functional pieces of designer furniture!
The donor for my furniture project was a 1968 Vespa sprint that was beyond restoration, making it the perfect candidate. I feel that this was a more honourable fate than the scrap metal yard.
I have tried to retain the traditional characteristics of the classic icon by converting the back half into a functional work station, complete with adjustable lap top stand. My aim was to deliver the feeling of riding a Vespa without the helmet hair. Anyone want to take it for a spin?

Silvia Zacchello’s work is based on the art of recycling and restoring furniture and vintage objects, particularly chairs.
After an initial repairing, the chairs are entirely painted, with motifs and themes inspired by Pop Art, comics and vintage graphics: the chairs become colorfully lively, chairs that recall interior design with a “Pop Art” feel, vintage design, furniture giving space to design with flair that is nostalgic but present.
All the objects are hand-painted with acrylics, which are then covered with a shiny clearparquet varnish, making such objects usable daily.
Silvia Zacchello currently lives and paints in the chaotic italian city of Mestre, in an apartment that she loves to continuously make more colorful.

Mobina is a multifunctional module that reuses cardboard tubes (waste by a fabric store) as structure. The product can be used like a bookshelf, stool, side table, storage box, and wherever you need. Each module uses 11 cardboard tubes that fits in the side planes.

The assembly of the bookshelf is very simple, because Mobina is ergonomic and easily transported. A little connection piece (made with waste of MDF) gives the resistence.

Besides the multifunctional principle, this product uses only two materials, water-based paint, is formally minimalist and can be used by people of different ages.
