Oyster shells are relatively easy to find, you can find some of them directly on beaches, but also, you can ask for restaurants if they can keep some for you or during your next party with Oysters. I don't know about where you are, but here it's against the law to take oyster shell's off the beach. Without the shell's the oyster larva have nothing to attach to and so never grow into a adult oyster.
Please check your local laws before taking these shell's home for crafts.
If the shells are on the beach, the the larvae cannot attach to them. That's not how oysters grow anyway. Your comment is asinine and completely wrong.
I eat oysters in restaurants and always take the shells home. I disinfect and prepare them for decorating. Most restaurants that serve oysters are glad to let you take as many as you want. 😊
They need eel grass to propagate, not the shell. If your beach is a national or state park you cant take nor leave anything. This doesn't have anything to do with oyster seedlings.
Oyster recycling centers are located all along the coast. Anyone can go get as much as they wish.
