ermmm… i always taught my own children & children in my care in the nursery NOT to tread on books as they are PRECIOUS things! (nice image though!)

The fact is many books get thrown away everyday. When our library gets overloaded with donated books and they have no room for them, they have no other choice but to toss them in the dumpster. I’m sure there’s tons of books that are already torn up and the book spine can easily be recycled and used from these. That’s why it’s called recycling, because you’re taking something that’s meant for the garbage and making something useful out of it. I agree with her! It is a horrible waste of good books! And just because there are people thoughtless enough that would throw good books in garbage does not mean that what they are. There are many many people that would love to have the books! Anyone that thinks destroying books is ok has no appreciation for books and therefore no understanding of the point we’re trying to make!!
Never under estimate the value of books! And this blatant disregard for knoeledge is disgusting!!
