Necklace from Aluminum Foil, Candy Wrapper Balls, Globes and Spheres

Necklace: “BIG FAT GOLD ICES” from recycled aluminum foil:

She loves only gold and this gold jewelry is fortunately inexpensive. Since I was a kid I have been making little balls between my palms out of candy foil, yogurt pot lids and other kinds of tin foil. Around Easter, I did that with Easter candy foil and found that those globes were especially nice and colorful. So I saved those balls for an upcoming jewelry project. Now I finally found the time to let this project come to life and I enjoy to safe some really beautiful silver foil from the trash. Be sure, I cleaned every foil thoroughly before I balled it!

The foil balls are threaded on a very precious golden lurex thread. There is braided lurex thread all around the backside, so one doesn’t have those foil spheres scratching the neck. This OOAK necklace is 74 cm / 29 inches long on the whole and will fit over one’s head without having to open a clasp. It’s very lightweight.
