Paper Collage Workshop – Spring Tulips

I’m a paper collage artist, and I love making beautiful things that include recycled materials. For this project, I buy cradled wood panels – think of them as shallow wooden boxes – 5″ x 7″ x .8.” Then I use gesso and acrylic paint to prepare them for our collage. At the workshop, we’ll cut the vase, flowers, and leaves (freehand! it’s fun!) from old magazines, calendars, and sale catalogs, and glue them in place. Each person’s collage will look different as you’ll use different colors and textures. I’ll coat the finished picture with some acrylic medium to seal it in place, and you can take it home and set it on a ledge or hang it on the wall.

I also provide some light refreshments – wine, cheese, crackers – to make it an extra special evening.

No experience necessary. “Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.” Twyla Tharp
