Diy Video Tutorial: Upcycled Spoon Cup Hooks

Another great DIY Video Tutorial: Upcycled Spoon Cup Hooks from Dark Horse Woodworking! This is a coffee or teacup holder made from pallet wood with real spoon hooks. A simple but ingenious idea to add some custom functional home decor. Wouldn’t this be an amazing gift for friends or family?

Upcycled Spoon Cup Hooks – custom make your own home decor or home accessories!

This project can even upcycle mismatched silverware, or it could be a fun way to reuse old baby spoons. You need one scrap piece of pallet wood of any wood type. A belt sander makes quick work of rounding over the corners, but you can cut and hand sand too (or shape it any way you want). Print out a mirror-image of whatever word you want, and you can also use other images and photographs. See our post at 1oo1pallets.com on how to do wood transfers if you need additional information. You can stain the board as light or dark as you want, but keep in mind that you’ll want to see your lettering. We opted to sand the board smooth, but not so smooth that the milling cuts were gone to keep that visual interest! Additionally, you can brush on your sealers if you don’t have a spray gun.
