How to Transform an Old Electric Heater into an Industrial/Steampunk Table Lamp?

It all began with a parabolic radiator with a beautiful brass dish found on a French flea market. Brass is the perfect “lampshade” to create a warm golden light. So it had to be a lamp. This industrial/steampunk table lamp was made from:

  • The desk lamp has been made from an old parabolic heater.
  • The dish is solid brass and the base is made out of bakelite.
  • The head can be oriented and it can be hanged on a wall.

After a thorough cleaning of the brass and the bakelite base, the electrical resistance in the center of the dish has been replaced by a brand new electrical system with an elegant fiber-covered cable.

An Edison style bulb as been chosen to reinforce the golden light given by the brass parabola. The final lamp has a tilting head and the base can be hanged on a wall, so the lamp is either a desk lamp or a wall unit.It is a unique piece ready to complete your home decor!
