I had a bunch of maps a friend gave me (trusting that I would do something with them). A couple of years after (?) I joined a penpal group of Mexicans around the world, a great opportunity for me to send handmade-upcycled gifts. So I finally did something with those maps!
I used cereal cardboard as the base and several folded layers of maps to make it stable, then I pierced where the nylon thread would go, attached a ribbon on top and finally put some transparent nail polish where the holes are to prevent from tearing. A nice little detail as a gift, what do you think?
