Industrially- and mass-produced objects become personalized as they are used by unique individuals. I contemplate an object’s history from how it has been formed, folded, scratched, colored, stretched, cut, and more. Then I recover and enhance the hidden dynamics in aged Shoes. Through this improvisational process, visual evidence on the surface becomes more pronounced or is acknowledged or eliminated. I use leather=friendly and durable acrylic paints. My challenge is to experience and respond closely to the characteristic qualities of a found item.
