Moonee Valley City Council proudly presents Artecycle, a leading exhibition of sculpture and installation that explores the themes of environmentalism, sustainability and renewal. Now in its fifth year, Artecycle encourages Australian and international artists to devise artwork that responds to the contemporary ideas surrounding the themes of environmentalism and sustainability with a non-acquisitive prize pool of $14,000 AUD.
Previous winners of the competition have included Paul Yore, Brigit Heller and Geoffrey Ricardo and previous judges have included director of the Heide Museum, Jason Smith, and director of the McClelland Gallery, Robert Lindsay.
ARTECYCLE sculpture and installations must engage with the themes above by interpreting the use of reclaimed ephemeral or environmentally sensitive materials, or by using materials in an environmentally responsible manner.
The Artecycle prize pool is offered in three prizes:
- The $10,000 East Keilor and Strathmore Community Bank® Branches Award
- The $3,000 Incinerator Gallery Award
- The $1,000 People’s Choice Award
