If you have leftover laminate from your old flooring renovation and don’t know what to do with it, don’t stress. Did you know that you can upcycle laminate into some pretty awesome projects that look amazing and that are also super practical?
I’m going to show you some of the amazing projects I found and what I was able to make from my leftover planks!
I had about 16 leftover planks of Quick-Step Cottage Oak from the last of the pack of laminate that I was using for my downstairs hallway. I didn’t know what to do with them, and it seemed such a waste to just throw them away. So I did some research online and found a way to turn my leftover laminate planks and my old bookcase into a gorgeous, rustic-style display unit. I absolutely love it- we were going to get rid of the old shelves but I’m so glad we saw this on Pinterest. We painted the cabinet with Farrow and Ball distressed paint, changed the handles to antique-style knobs, and then attached the laminate as backing to the interior of the shelves. Super simple, and really beautiful in my living room!
It got me thinking about other uses for laminate flooring too. I didn’t end up using all 16 planks but really wanted to leave as little waste as I could. So here are some of the other projects that I found.
Upcycled Vintage Tray- This one is so cute! Use a serving tray and then stick laminate to it. This is one of my favorite pieces of home decor upcycling that I’ve seen.
Laminate Table Top – If you’ve got a dining room table, side table or maybe a lamp table that’s looking tired, you could do what I did and give your old furniture a face-lift. You can literally make any old piece of furniture look completely different.
Spring floral arrangement – If you’ve got a dining room table and want to add some flora decoration on it, you can build a spring floral arrangement with some leftover laminate floor pieces.
You can even make a desktop from leftover laminate flooring!
What about an original bedroom headboard from laminate flooring planks?
