Das Park Hotel Home Improvement

Welcome to Das Park Hotel in Linz, Austria. This unique hotel has transformed standard concrete sewer pipes into hotel rooms, simply by giving them a back wall and large front door, and drilling a window in the side for a little bit of natural light. Throw in a lamp, a bed, and some sleeping bags and you’ve got what looks like one of the most original hotel ideas.

Interesting but not doesn’t seem fully realized. I cant see what is to the left of the door but I have to hope they provided for ventilation. I would have put a drawer under the bed and made the standing area flat. Also shelving/cubby hole to the left of the bed rather than just a flat shelf. This, and the wine barrel hotel rooms, would make for amazing backyard playhouses, or on the school playground.

Hello!

I saw this special “hotel” a long time ago in a report and now again. Does it still exist? Or was it only a special place for the “Kulturhauptstadt” project?

Would be great if I can still visit it. Now it’s a little bit to cold and I am on travelling…but perhaps in summer?

Yes it does! In Ottensheim (near Linz) they are placed right on the Danube riverside. :)
