Label Vest

This vest was made from recycled materials (the only exception is thread – I haven’t figured out how to do this yet!) After collecting the labels off clothing, they were sewn on foundation fabric and made into a vest. The foundation fabric was scraps of men’s summer weight wool suit. The vest lining was made from suit lining. The buttons came from an old dress that I salvaged.

Under a suit jacket and with a white shirt, the vest “read” as an ornate brocade. It is fun to watch the reaction of people when they realize its just labels!
