Lamp Made Out Of A Discarded Popcorn Maker

I made this unique lamp from a discarded popcorn maker I found next to a dumpster. After cleaning up the unit, I removed the electrical components and replaced them with a threaded nipple & standard socket. I chose an orange flame bulb to represent the old heating element. This, along with the yellow plastic top guard, gives the lamp a warm orange glow that is perfect at night. Finally, I filled the cavity with clear acrylic jewels, to represent the popcorn. The whole project took only a couple hours, as I luckily had all the parts I needed.

My favorite part… the item’s brand name “POPLITE” takes on a whole new meaning! Let me know what you think in the comments below, and please visit my Etsy shop for more unique, upcycled items.
