Recycled Coffee Can Rims Into Dream Catchers

I love rusted metal, and I love to crochet, so I incorporated the two together and came up with my unique Dream Catchers and Wall Hangings. I had some of the cardboard coffee cans with the metal rims that I had used for some of my patio garden plants last year. I saw that rusted metal and thought that I could use it for something creative. So I got a box cutter and cut the bottom ring and the circular bottom off of the cans, drilled holes in them and then crocheted a centerpiece for each. I decided to rust some metal brads, washers, safety pins and paper clips in a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and salt to add to my pieces. I also rust my coffee can rims using this method too. I added some lace, ribbon, fabric strips and beads and came up with my little Dream Catchers.
