Recycled Mirrors Using Easter Eggs & Chocolate Bars Foil

Mirrors recycled using colored foil from Easter eggs & chocolate bars. Kitsch & shiny & way cheaper than using gold leaf… Stuck with PVA (white glue) then varnished to protect the foil which is fragile. Hellishly fiddly & time consuming to do but a nice result. I start with an all over base layer, gold foil if I’m using predominantly red or green foil if I’m using blue, then a second layer of torn strips & then a third layer which is usually a long curving strip which snakes right around the frame.

Wow, they look amazing. I usually collect the cellophane sweetie wrappers at Christmas. I can see that I need to collect the foil too.

I love this site, the artists are so clever and imaginative! Please could you give me some ideas of how to use a couple of old Renault wind screens? I thought a water feature or a light? But I don’t know where to start!
Many thanks, in anticipation
