Upcycled State Plaque Using Pallets/Corrugated Tin Roofing

I made this Upcycled State Plaque using pallet wood and aged corrugated tin roofing. I upcycled more pallet wood for bracing material.  Additional materials include pallet wood, recycled and aged sheet metal roofing, reused wood as bracing for the back and a D-hook picture hanging kit.

Use what you find to make your own Upcycled State Plaque!

First, find some scrap pallet wood. This project didn’t require a full pallet and took about two hours to complete. When making the cutout, I wanted to keep the cutout pieces whole because they will be used for a second plaque project. The cutout is made on the band saw. Then bracing attached on the back. Finally, I attached a rectangular piece of corrugated tin roofing to the back.

This Upcycled State Plaque is created from upcycled pallet wood and corrugated tin roofing material, then carved into the shape of Alabama.
This state plaque shape is a unique idea that can be easily done with the help of the kids! Even if they did the drawing, or helped search for scrap wood to use!
