I love this piece of art but this is not recycling. Are the balloons reused or new? What happened with them after?
I’m an artist that works with both repurposed and recycled materials and most viewers don’t seem to know the difference. I doubt this artist meant for there to be a recycling message in this work. A killing machine transformed into harmless colorful children’s toys is delightful enough on it’s own.
Even though it can be annoying, if my non-recycled work ends up encouraging recycling I can live with that. In my adaptive reuse or repurposed work I hope to get people thinking about more possible uses for common objects which, in a round about way, serves the same purpose.
Awesome!!
Now that’s my kind of tank!
