As we are living in the northern part of germany in a region of apple plantation we wanted to create a coffee table made out of wooden apple crates.
One crate we deconstructed into slices, emerized and coated them for using the slices as desk top. Our grandfather who is a carpenter helped us with constructing the wood we bought for the frame into a proportional shape and to build up three table-legs. We painted the legs and the frame with white color. The other wooden crate we wanted to use on the whole as the fourth table-leg and as news rack at once. We also emerized and coated the box. The result is a very solid coffee table which is not to massive.
