1000th Post Contest Winner : A Roomful of Old Ladies Clattering Their Fingernails

Here it is, our 1000th post and the winner is Mithun Jayaram with it’s contribution “A Roomful of Old Ladies Clattering Their Fingernails”, congratulation to him and for his patience !

“An experiment to create an installation space using pencils, their shavings and powder as the medium to create forms and shapes within a shopping mall tunnel. The inspiration came while searching for ideas to work on for this space. I happened to be sharpening a pencil and upon looking at the shavings, I imagined so many possibilities of transforming it. This dream started off when I was thinking of making wind chimes using pencils, undressed in a way where it would be the lead lines that would be tinkling against each other.”

This is a waste not recycling.

i would agree with you, Lorena, if the shavings were thrown away.
they were not.
and they were reused to make gift items.

this was only the first part of the experiment with a different purpose.

most, if not all the project that i have worked on, have been such where i have collected the traces of the project and later re-use them for another purpose.
