BEJEWELED is a functional jewelry holder, constructed out of recycled license plates mounted on a full wine barrel stave, and embellished with wine corks as holders for scarves or necklaces. Each letter has holes drilled in the top and the bottom…the bottom holes are for hoop, or hanging earrings and the top holes are for post earrings. Additionally, scarves or necklaces can also be draped over the tops of the letters.
We have been doing license plate art and signage for a while now, but wanted to try some new interesting background material for our work, instead of just a square, or rectangular piece of wood. A lot of people do license plate art. A lot of people do wine stave art and crafts. We are the only ones, to our knowledge, that combine these two materials for something unique, colorful and interesting.
