This butterfly has a background made up of pages of an old cosmetology book mounted on a piece of plywood once used in the set for Anything Goes. The outside edges are made of recycled cans. The body of the butterfly is an old bobbin with old aluminum curlers for antennas and the end. In the holes at the top of the Masonite are Cracker Jack toys and and other small objects. The drawing on one wing of a man working on someones hair was done by a student who owned the book.
The rest of the design is based on symmetry. From my collection of reclaimed objects, I attempt to recreate the designs of a butterfly.
