The trunk lamps is a very simple object: a piece of raw wood, carefully hollowed and assembled into a minimalistic lamp. The neon cable brings a fresh touch to the ensemble.
Based in Berlin and Toulouse, a&ré is a design studio specialising in creating objects in concrete and other original materials, as both unique pieces and small series. Making use of the diversity in surfaces and the properties of each material, they experiment and imagine new ways to produce pieces following a rational process, whilst keeping each of them absolutely unique. In this sense, crafting and upcycling are an essential component of their work. A&ré Design’s projects are developed both internally and in collaboration with craftsmen, designers and architects. Their pieces have lately been featured during DMY Berlin as well as art fairs in Amsterdam and Toulouse. They also collaborate with Fab Labs, facilitating public-furniture-making workshops, and have been invited to do so during this year’s Salone Del Mobile in Milan.
