Upcycled Horseshoe Hat Rack Makes Cedar Look Amazing!

I made this Horseshoe Hat Rack using a piece of scrap cedar, used barb wire, and some old horseshoes. It’s a rustic and unique piece that cost nothing to make!

The perfect gift for the horse aficionado in your family – make them a Horseshoe Hat Rack!

First, I took a piece of scrap cedar, trimmed it to size, and sanded it. The section of wood had unique and stunning cracks, and I didn’t fill them on purpose. I attached small eyelets on the back of the board for a place to hook the wire to. Next, I heated and bent four horseshoes to create the hat rack portion and attached them to the board. Screws or standard nails work, or you can use decorative cut nails. I clear-coated the board with polyurethane, and when dry, attached the barbed wire.

Upcycle a cedar board and don't bother filling the cracks or fissures. It'll make this Horseshoe Hat Rack look more rustic and stunning.
I didn’t fill the nail holes or cracks/fissures on the Cedar board. I think that adds beauty!
