I am a registered nurse by day, and a contemporary mixed media artist by night that has recently started a new line called “Urban Veggie”. Throughout my work I place emphasis on sustainable eco-friendly designs.
In essence that means that I try my hardest to reduce, reuse and recycle by implementing found objects into my artwork. So you caught me–I am a frequent flier to garage sales, the ARC, and Goodwill in order to find unique materials for my artwork.
I have studied sculpture, woodwork, metals, pottery, jewelry and other art mediums throughout various courses in high school and college.
In the past I have been in several shows and have had the honor of displaying my work in a Manitou Springs gallery as well as a Denver coffee shop. Additionally, I was privileged enough to be featured in “Riverrun”, the student journal for creative arts at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I graduated from this university with a bachelors of science in nursing. Urban Veggie designs are currently available for retail purchase in five storefront locations throughout Colorado.
In my free time I am a big fan of outdoor activities. Hiking or biking would have to be my top two, but I am also a big fan of: white-water rafting, camping, snowboarding, ice blocking, watching a good ‘ole fashioned sunset, and the smell after it rains.
Outside of spending time in Mother Nature, I love spending time with my rock; aka my wonderful husband Alex. I whole-heartedly enjoy quality time with friends & family, traveling, live music, mom and pop coffee shops, snuggling up to a good movie, and hot cocoa with whipped cream.
