My only problem with the can mugs, is that the hot liquids would be twice as hot. Caution in the burn the mouth zone.

What kind of paint did you use. I want to make these really bad. Is there a particular kind of food safe paint that you used??

Most cans are also lined with BPA. Something to think about.

Where are the instructions for the can/fork mugs?

Are there instructions to make these? They are great.

Cute idea, but never any info. It does concern me the amount of this type of thing I see floating around that calls for using Rustoleum paint (platters, paint, etc), which is not food or drink safe. If enameled and fired, great, but if using paint from a can, not very wise.

Are there directions for making these?? These would make a fabulous gift!! Thanks for sharing!

if you look closely you will see that these mugs are ceramic.
They look like spray painted cans to me. If they are ceramic, I wonder why anyone would label them “upcycled cans for coffee mugs?” That is a big problem with Pinterest at times when a project isn’t listed correctly. I hope everyone who makes these “mugs” ONLY uses food safe material like ceramic or glass and is VERY careful about how hot these can get over a fire. Myself, I wouldn’t drink out of an aluminum glass either. Aluminum is a neuro-toxin and has been associated with Alzheimer’s disease. It has not been identified as “the cause,” but why risk… Read more »

These would make adorable silverware/plastic ware utensil holders while on a picnic or camping. However I would be hesitant about using them to drink from, unless using food grade paint. They would be ideal for cold drinks however hot liquids would make the can itself very hot, therefore a chance of burning the lips/mouth. The design though is cute.

I would place a red solo cup or some kinda plastic cup inside
