Wind Chime from Upcycled Tin Cans

I made this wind chime of upcycled tin cans. Very funny to make. Right now it’s in my garden! :)

Maybe not funny, but great smart idea. Wonder what sound or tune does it has?

I think she meant “fun” :) Auto-correct can be a booger sometimes. But, agree this is a smart idea. Especially, being able to use the part of the can that many will toss. Which is exactly what brought me here. Looking for ways to use the tops and bottoms of cans. This is definitely an inspiration to work from. Thank you for sharing. I am definitely saving the bottoms from soda cans and tops of veggie cans just for something like this.

Yes I am going to make one using the lids and bottoms of tin cans, bottoms off aluminum cans, soda pulls and bottle caps.
I seen illustrations for all 4 items now. Been saving the bottle caps and some aluminum can pulls. We don’t drink that much soda or use canned stuff very much so I will ask neighbors to save as well.
Note: The soda pulls are used as chains between the lids and bottle caps if anyone was wondering.

What type of paint did you use on the lids?

She used nail polish.

How do you make the edge of the lid to where its no longer sharp? I love the idea.

They have can openers that will take the lid off from the side so no sharp edges. They work by lifting the lid at the seal instead of ‘cutting’ through the metal top.

It’s a hand crank can opener that keeps the sides smoothe
