Apparently establishing restaurants in used-to-be-bathrooms is the new fad. After Earl of Sandwich opened up in Boston Commons in the previous calendar year, Attendant has done the same – only across the pond. Located under Foley Street in London, Attendant is a transformation of a Victorian toilet from the 1890s, and remnants of its past are still discernable in its interior décor. Though white bathroom tiles line the walls of the space, the restaurant is beautifully lit with small, delicate fixtures – all the better for you to enjoy your sandwich and afternoon tea. And of course, white ceramic adornments remind of the other type of porcelain bowl… though the one you eat out of is sure to be clean.
Sorry that’s pushin it, could not eat in that “rest”aurant. no way no how, bad “up”cycle. more like Downcycle
This is a wonderful and creative art installation—art for art’s sake. That said, I couldn’t eat there. No amount of cleaning would convince me.
so you don`t have it too far….
