If you want to try this, please don’t put the iron directly against the plastic! You’d have a mess to clean off the sole plate of the iron. Use some kind of paper both under and over the plastic-and-mesh. Start with the iron set at a fairly low temp., and gradually raise it higher until you get the result you want.
