Late 2018, my daughter had a school assignment for recycling and began researching any examples of discarded books being used. Eventually, it was right here in the south we discovered bits and pieces of history from the post Civil War and Great Depression mentioning books being used to create tramp art. PaperCut Studios proudly continues to push the boundaries of southern tramp art.
We got a lot of requests to have an old family book altered into a treasure. A Grandmother’s prized 70-year-old set of encyclopedia’s turned into Christmas ornaments for everyone in the family. Authors who have a copy of their first run of a new book turned into a sculpture for their office. A ragged copy of Harry Potter into a KING chess piece. We hope you enjoy our creations and will share our story with your friends.
book killers !
Oh so funny! Periodically, libraries get rid of books in order to have more for the new books. They end up in the trash if no one takes them. Paper folding designs recycles the books to keep them out of the trash and out of landfills.
Monica Makielski :) :) for your library
Was thinking about trying some of these.
