Mini Spool Dolls

My Mini Spools Dolls were created by me because I hated throwing the wooden spools in the garbage. There is enough in the landfills, and I felt they had the potential for something cute and useful. I noticed nowadays, they use foam spools for thread, and foam isn’t recyclable. The materials I used are the wooden spools, large wooden beads for the heads, pipe cleaners, satin ribbon, pearls, glue, faux flowers, mini straw hat, and veil for a bride. Plus, I’ve been thinking about what else to use wooden spools for recycling.

The doll on the left: “Senorita” the doll is made from a small wooden spool, her head is made of wood, her arms are a pipe cleaner covered with ribbon, the spool is covered with satin ribbon. Her dress is made of lace, with a knot at the neck. There is a straw hat with a flower on her head. Her facial features and hair are applied with a permanent marker. She is 2 3/4″ tall.

Doll in the middle: “Spring bride” the doll is made of a small wooden spool, her head is made of wood, her arms are covered with ribbon, the spool is covered with satin ribbon. Her wedding dress is made of lace, with fake pearls around the neck; she wears a bouquet with a wide satin ribbon with lace. Her veil on her head is net with fake pearl trim. Her facial features and hair are applied with a permanent marker. She is 2 3/4″ tall.

The doll on the right: “Daisy” the doll is made of a small wooden spool, her head is made of wood, her arms are covered with satin ribbon. Her dress is made of lace with a satin bow at the neck.
