Vintage Steam Punk Industrial Re-purposed World Globe Swivel Desk / Floor Lamp

I made this amazing One Of A Kind table or floor lamp. I call it my “What’s this world coming to?“, it’s an Industrial Steam Punk re-purposed world globe into lamp.

This project started out as a Vintage World Globe on the original stand. It’s a great piece on it’s own but was very dated for my Urban Loft decor style. So I came up with the solution to make the best of both worlds and convert it into a Globe lamp. The assembly basically includes all original parts minus the bottom half of the globe. This portion was replaced using metal straps and a light assembly located on the top inside of globe. Everything was painted in a rusty aged metal to give the appearance that this globe has been around the world with years of natural aged patina.

I hope you enjoy this creative solution to a traditional item that has now been re-purposed into a industrial style that is certain to appeal to everyone around the world!

Re-purposed Vintage World Globe is cut in half and Galvanized Steel straps finish globes shape on the bottom half of this ONE OF A KIND up-cycled desk / floor lamp as shown in photos.

Globe has light socket and wiring that allows the globe to swivel in multiple directions for light control as shown in photos.

World Globe measures 38″ in diameter.

World Globe is Vintage with raised terrain for visual detail and depth as shown in photos.

Desk Lamp measures 33″ in Height.

Galvanized Steel straps complete the shape on the bottom side for the Steampunk Industrial look.

Really nice — I like the placement of the switch, and the use of a silver-tipped bulb. One small error, there is no way that globe has a 38 inch diameter — maybe you meant circumference?
