Diy: Doily Pendant Lamp with Lace

Beautiful lamp made of old doilies or lace. You just need a balloon, wallpaper glue and the fabric/doilies. Soak the doilies in the glue, past on top of the balloon, glue some more and overlap the doilies, so they are connected. Let dry and then pop the balloon. (it’s possible to use an old beach ball as well.

Use a nice fitting and preferable a low energy lamp (or LED). I simply sew the lamp on top with the fitting. Enjoy- For full step by step on how to do this lamp look at DosFamily website!

This is so lovely, so I tried to make one using my big collection of old lace doilys picked up from Charity shops over the years. I found that the wallpaper paste I used wasn’t stong enough to keep the globe shape (I covered an old beachball). Did you make the paste extra thick to stop the globe from sagging?

Sympathie. Vi

Is there a way to not have to pop the balloon? My baloons are 36″, and expensive. I’d like to save them to do more balloons.
