Bench From An Old Headboard

I got this idea from a flea market-themed reality TV show. So when I saw a neighbor getting rid of an old twin bed frame, I decided to try it for myself. The headboard became the back of the bench, and I sawed the footboard in half to make the two arms. The bench seat and lower shelf were made from the bed frame’s side rails (plus some scrap wood). Several coats of glossy black paint completed the frame. Then I searched online to find a cushion and baskets in the right size. The result is a one-of-a-kind bench that is perfect for putting on shoes by the front door.
